Pom Pom Love! (tutorial)

                                                   


1-Stack together 16 sheets of tissue.Make  accordion folds.


2-Fold  piece of floral wire over the center of the folded tissue and twist.  Trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.  I cut rounded edges but the pointy ones remind me of dahlias and are very pretty too.


3-Carefully separate the layers of tissue paper, pulling away each sheet from the center one at a time.  This can be tricky and the tissue might tear but don’t be discouraged.  The final result is so fluffy and spherical that no one will notice a few tears.


4-Now you should have a beautiful and fun paper flower.I made these pom-poms for my husband's 50 th bithday party and everybody love them.


                                                                    INSTRUCCIONES

1-Dobla 16 hojas de papel tissue en forma de abanico.


2-Sujeta el abanico con un alambre finito o hilo en el medio.Corta las puntas en forma redondeada o en pico.


                    3-Con mucho cuidado separa cada una de las hojas del papel tissue tirando para afuera.Si se te rompe alguna hoja no te preocupes,cuando el pom -pom este terminado nadie lo va a notar.


4-Ahora debes de tener un hermoso pom-pom.Esta idea encanta a la gente ,yo los hice para la fiesta de cumpleanos de mi esposo y la gente no podia creer que los habia hecho yo.

 I figured I better document my beautiful herbs before the snow comes. I've thrown in a couple of  pictures of my little helper.

    Chimichurri sauce.

Ingredients

• 1 cup fresh parsley
• 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
• 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
• 2 tablespoons dried oregano
• 2 teaspoons ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
• 1/2 tablespoon pepper sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot®)

Directions

1. Place the parsley, olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, cumin, salt, garlic and hot pepper sauce into the container of a blender or food processor. Blend for about 10 seconds on medium speed, or until ingredients are evenly blended.

                                      

Painting a dresser

I am thiiiiis close to being finished painting this beautiful dresser.

I can't wait to see how it turns out.

And if I hate it,there's always paint  ;)

Estoy asiiiiii de cerca de terminar de pintar esta hermosa comoda.La compre usada por $18 y no puedo esperar a verla terminada.
Y si no me gusta como queda.....siempre se le puede dar otra manito de pintura  ;)

TOMS SHOES.

Let me start this Post by saying that everyone in here wear Toms.

My son Santiago is a big fan.He was so excited when he got his first pair of  red TOMS on the mail .

When I saw the box, the first thing I asked him was if the shoes came from Argentina.

 The logo of the brand was pretty much like the flag of my country "Argentina"and when I saw the shoes, were like an alpargatas (a traditional Argentine shoe that farmers have worm for more than 100 years).
The cool part of this is the company gave a new pair of shoes to a child in need.What a wonderful way to feel good about a purchase and help others!

Voy a comenzar contandoles que aca en USA. los zapatos TOMS son muy populares.
Mi hijo Santiago es un gran fanatico de estos zapatos.Se puso muy feliz hace unas semanas cuando el cartero le trajo sus rojos zapatos TOMS.
Cuando vi la caja lo primero que le pregunte fue si los zapatos los hacian en Argentina ,ya que el logo de la marca es muy similar a la bandera de este querido pais.
Luego cuando saco los zapatos de la caja,vi que eran las tipicas alpargatas Argentinas.
Asi que,la excitacion de mi hijo,la caja y los TOMS(las alpargatas) captaron inmediatamente mi atencion.
Aunque la parte buena de todo esto y lo que me llevo a escribir un post acerca de TOMS,es que con la compra que hizo Santiago, la compania le mando unos zapatos iguales  a un chico que anda descalzo en alguna parte del mundo.
Que maravillosa manera de sentirse bien comprando y de esta manera estar ayudando a otros!

I had seen Toms shoes around for quite a while but I never took a moment to read exactly what this company was all about.

I immediately knew I wanted to share it with my readers,and figured since I did not know the entire story,maybe some of you do not either!

Veia que todo el mundo aca usa estos zapatos (alpargatas) pero nunca me habia tomado el tiempo de averiguar de que se trataba esta compania.

TOMS eye wear is a new line they have come out with.It is much like the shoe line however it is sunglasses and the "One for one"thing is switched up.One pair of sunglasses from TOMS will provide a child in need of eye surgery,prescription glasses and/or a sight saving surgery.




  TOMS anteojos es una nueva linea que acaba de salir.Es practicamente la misma linea que los zapatos(alpargatas)"one for one"Cuando compras un par de anteojos TOMS la compania paga una operacion de ojos  o anteojos recetados.a alguien que lo necesite.




TOMS is truly a wonderful company and I am proud to inform others about it and wear their shoes.

My Husband's 50th birthday party.

You 're cordially invited to my husband very own at-home 50th b-day party.It was held right in the garage and parking lot of our house.Just like everything else I do,the party was one giant DIY project.From the invitations to the decor and entertainment(without breaking the bank)by doing everything with my two hands.

Usted esta cordialmente invitado a la muy casera  fiesta de  50 años de mi esposo Juan.El lugar de la fiesta fue en el garage de nuestra casa....Como todo lo que hago,fue un gran proyecto de hagalo usted mismo.

Our guests love this idea.But wasn't easy because I didn't have any picture of Juan as a kid (yeap!.....believe it or not he was small one time)so thank you very much to all friends and family who provided me with photos since the idea was to make a timeline of Juan's life since birth.

Esta idea encanto a los invitados.No fue facil ya que no tenia fotos de Juan de cuando era chico,asi que muchas gracias a todos los amigos y familiares que me facilitaron  fotos, ya que la idea fue hacer una linea de tiempo de los 50 años de Juan con fotos desde su nacimiento.

This is a fun idea and super cheap.Just need a nice fabric,blackboard,chalk and a camera.Juan had a blast the other day reading all the post he had written.

Esta es una idea divertida y economiquisima!!!!solo se necesita una tela linda,un pizarron,tizas y una camara. Juan se divirtio muchisimo al otro dia leyendo todos los mensajitos que le habian escrito.

For the dance we had funny hats and glasses and we saved money using our Ipod as a D-J

Para el baile usamos divertidos sombreros y anteojos.El D.J. Fue nuestro Ipod conectado a unos parlantes. 

Juan jugo practicamente toda su vida al rugby asi que se me ocurrio que le gustaria que el motivo de la torta sea  ese .Asi que (sin absolutamente nada de experiencia)me lance a la aventura con esta torta.Trate de hacerlo a el jugando al rugby con la camiseta de su club"Los Matreros" (http://www.losmatreros.com/)el cual ama con todo su corazon.
